Chisinau mayor sums up 2015 year

Chisinau, 31 December /MOLDPRES/ - Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca unveiled the projects carried out in 2015 at a meeting today. 

The mayor said the 2015 year had been difficult, yet stable for Chisinau. Chirtoaca also said that, throughout this year, the city had recorded positive results in terms of improving the infrastructure and people's living standards, on the whole.

At the same time, Dorin Chirtoaca enumerated seven most important projects completed this year: assembling of 20 trolley buses, setting 5,000 parking places, restoration of street illumination from the Chisinau Airport up to the Singera settlement, reconstruction of the Satiricus theatre, construction of the main aqueduct in the Truseni village, reopening of more kindergartens with about 6,500 places and completion of building an attic on the Independentei street in Chisinau.

"A new system of managing the municipal spending is seen for 2016. Thus, all the city hall's structures will monthly present a report on expenses for any acquisition or activity they plan to carry out on the concerned period. This change was initiated to manage the public money much better and more efficiently, as well as because of financial problems the city hall is facing at present," Chirtoaca said.

The Chisinau mayor also said "the city's modernisation and getting it in line with the European standards will continue next year as well, through another five major projects underway at present."
