European People’s Party of Moldova to support premier’s-designate government

Chisinau, 4 January /MOLDPRES/-The leader of European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM), Iurie Leanca today said his party would give a vote of confidence to the government headed by Prime Minister-designate Ion Sturza. The decision was taken during the extended meeting of PPEM’s Political Council.

Leanca said the majority of PPEM’s members voted in support of President Nicolae Timofti’s candidate for the position of prime minister.

“We decided that our three MPs will support Sturza’s government. The decision was taken by most of the party’s members. We hope that this will help steer Moldova out of this deep crisis. Let us see if other MPs will vote for Ion Sturza as well,” Leanca noted.

Prime Minister-designate Ion Sturza will present the new government’s action programme and his new cabinet of ministers in the parliament today and will ask for the MP’s confidence vote.
