Two persons seriously hit by explosion in Chisinau to be carried to Romania

Chisinau, 10 January /MOLDPRES/ - Two persons, who were seriously hit by an explosion at the Central market of Chisinau, are to be carried to Romania, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The decision was taken at a medical council, summoned by acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega at the Republican Burn Centre. Twelve out of 13 persons, who suffered in the wake of the blast, occurred at a canteen at the Chisinau-based Central Market on 9 January, are hospitalized at the centre. Another patient, who is an extremely serious condition, was put at the Emergency Medicine Institute of the capital.
This was the second meeting of the concerned medical council, chaired by Gheorghe Brega, with the first one held on 9 January evening. The medical council is made up of physicians from the Republican Burn Centre, Emergency Medicine Institute and decision-makers of the Health Ministry.
After an analysis of the patients' condition and taking into account possibilities of treatment, medical institutions of Moldova and from abroad avail of, the medical council ruled, for the time being, on the transportation of the two patients to Bucharest for treatment.
''Given that the medical institutions from Romania have a richer experience in treating patients with arsons, especially following a tragic case which occurred in Bucharest last autumn, two patients will be carried to the Bucharest municipal burn centre,'' Gheorghe Brega said after the meeting of the medical council.
To this end, the Moldovan authorities urgently got into touch with colleagues from Romania and the patients are to be carried to Bucharest by plane today.
