Chisinau, 11 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau International Airport today morning informed about the cancellation and delay of about ten flights. The reason is the thick fog in the Moldovan capital.
Airport's representatives have told MOLDPRES that "it is about the flights to Vienna, Istanbul, Verona, Bologna and Moscow. These flights record a delay of 3-10 hours because of low visibility. Four flights were cancelled today night."
The head of the weather forecasts centre at the State Hydrometeorological Service, Ghenadie Rosca, said that "the yellow code of fog, issued by meteorologists, remains in force till the noon, with a visibility of up to 200 metres. During the day, the visibility will grow to 500 metres."
Meteorologists forecast no fog for the next days. The air temperatures will vary between +1 and +3 Celsius degrees during the day and between 0 and -7 degrees at night. Short rains are expected on 12 January.
