EU body elects Moldovan official as member of Advisory Committee on Framework Convention for National Minorities

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/-The Delegations of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe met on 13 January to elect representatives of Moldova, Ireland and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for National Minorities, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
Based on a national contest, the Moldovan government delegated three representatives for this position. As a result, the Delegations of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe decided to vote in favour of Aliona Grossu’s candidature.
Aliona Grossu has been appointed to this position before and is currently a senior advisor of the Jewish Community organisation in Moldova.
