Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - Supporters of the Dignity and Truth Platform today stage protests on the Chisinau-based Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) against the new parliamentary majority and nomination of Vladimir Plahotniuc for the office of prime minister.
The people who had come to PMAN shouted anti-government slogans, demanded that the authorities establish stability in Moldova, continue the European integration and appoint an upright prime minister.

The situation depends on us, the citizens, the way we will mobilise on this period, to defend our future and the future of our children. We want to live in a democratic state. Therefore, we continue to back Moldova's President Nicolae Timofti, so that the latter repeatedly turns down the candidacy of Vladimir Plahotniuc for the office of prime minister," the head of the Great National Assembly Council, Andrei Nastase.
At the same time, backers of Our Party gathered at a rally outside the parliament building. "We support the yesterday's decision of the country's president, Nicolae Timofti, by which he rejected the candidacy of Vladimir Plahotniuc for the office of prime minister. Today, it is important the the citizens unite and say no to the new parliamentary majority. We must resist up to the end, so that the state power belongs to the people," the leader of Our Party, Renato Usatii, said.
Today is the second day of protests on PMAN, this after the new parliamentary majority on 13 January put forward the candidacy of Vladimir Plahotniuc for the office of prime minister.
