Moldovan premier proposes to award high state distinction to Romanian state secretary

Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - State distinctions are to be awarded to more people who actively participated in the rescue of victims of a blast which took place in Chisinau on 9 January, as well as in activities of providing medical assistance and transportation of three patients to Bucharest, at an initiative by acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
In this respect, Gheorghe Brega made a proposal to President Nicolae Timofti to award the state distinction Order of Honour to State Secretary, head of the Department for Emergency Situations at the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs Raed Arafat. The distinction is to be given as a token of gratitude and appreciation of the ensuring of an efficient cooperation between the similar services from Romania and Moldova, as well as for contribution to the implementation of the Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) in Moldova.
"Due to Arafat, the carriage of patients to Bucharest was organised quickly, in 24 hours," Gheorghe Brega told journalists, referring to Raed Arafat's contribution to the organisation, transportation and hospitalisation of Moldovan citizens in the Romanian hospital.
Also, the Health Ministry proposed to award state distinctions to six medical employees, who got involved in the rescue of the people wounded in the concerned fire and proved professionalism deserving appreciation.
At the same time, the Interior Ministry (MAI) proposed that the Moldovan president awards Moldova's orders, "Gloria Muncii" (Labour Glory) and "Credinta Patriei" (Loyalty to Motherland) to employees of MAI bodies for an irreproachable fulfilment of their duty during works or rescue and liquidation of fire's consequences.
