Moldova, American Jewish organizations to enhance cooperation ties

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/-Moldovan Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur held a meeting with the director of the American Jewish Committee’s (AJC) Eurasian Programmes Department, Sam Kliger, the Foreign and European Integration Minister’s information and media communication service has reported.
The sides made a thorough exchange of views on Moldova’s cooperation with American Jewish organizations and other subjects of mutual interest. They also focused on the need to guide society towards a culture of tolerance, non-discrimination, rejecting anti-Semitic ideologies and commemorating Holocaust victims.
In this context, Galbur praised Moldova’s good and long-lasting cooperation ties with the American Jewish Committee. Both sides voiced mutual willingness to boost these ties up.
For his part, Kliger welcomed the decision to mark the day of 27 January as National Holocaust Remembrance Day in Moldova. He praised the Moldovan government for its wide efforts to back the celebration of this day in Chisinau on 25-28 January.
