Moldovan head of state designates Pavel Filip for PM office

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/- President Nicolae Timofti today designated acting Information Technology and Communications Minister Pavel Filip for the office of prime minister, the presidential press service has reported.

The president’s decision was based on the parliamentary majority’s proposal signed by 55 MPs.

According to the presidential decree, Filip has the authorization to work out a government action programme and cabinet list and present them to the parliament by 29 January 2016.

Biographic data of the prime minister-designate is listed below:

Date of birth: 10 April 1966, Panasesti village, Straseni district.

1991 - 1996 - International Management Institute

1983 - 1990 - Polytechnic Institute, Chisinau.

Career:

January 2011 - Appointed as Information Technology and Communications Minister

2008 - 2011 - General Director of JSC "Tutun-CTC"

2001 - 2008 - General Director of JSC "Bucuria"

1998 - 2001 - Chief Engineer of JSC "Bucuria", Deputy Director General of Production and Technological Issues Department

1993 - 1994 - Director of the Department of producers 'Bucuria'

1991 - 1993 - Head of the Compressors Department "Bucuria".

Marital status: Married, two children.
