Mobile emergency service carries out first operation on left bank of Dniester

Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service on 15 January was asked to make an intervention of the Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) on the left bank of Dniester, the first one in this region.
According to a press release by the aforementioned service, a SMURD team with an ambulance and physicians of the Republican Clinical Hospital had the task to take over a 63-year-old patient from the Tiraspol-based hospital and carry him urgently to Chisinau.
The man is a citizen of the United Kingdom and was suffering from respiratory failure. The SMURD crew along with physicians of the Republican Clinical Hospital managed to bring the patient in a stable condition and he was subsequently taken over for care.
Information by the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service shows that this is the first SMURD operation of taking over a patient from the left bank of Dniester. The mission took place without impediments and the patient was brought to Chisinau for subsequent medical care.
