Moldovan acting premier gives instructions to de-block all 72 snowed-up settlements till 19 January morning

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - Seventy two Moldovan settlements, particularly in the Stefan Voda and partially Causeni districts, remained blocked following the heavy snowfall of the last days, acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Breg a said after a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations today. 

The prime minister said he had given an instruction to deblock these localities till tomorrow morning. As many as 193 technical units are involved in snow clearance works, with another 70 ones due to be mobilised this night. Also, the assistance of the National Army was demanded and the Moldsilva Agency was involved. 

"There are many pregnant women in the hit settlements, therefore I gave instructions to the Health Ministry that the pregnant women from the Stefan Voda and Causeni districts, whose birth term is ten days at the most, be hospitalised. One doctor will be detached to each blocked settlement," the acting prime minister said. 

Brega also said that there was enough antiskid material to cope with problems on these says. 

The prime minister added that the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service had provided assistance to two patients with bleeding and four pregnant women. 

The latest operative information by the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service shows that the road traffic takes place with difficulty in settlements from the Cantemir, Taraclia, Stefan Voda, Causeni and Cahul districts. Today, over 20 transport means were deblocked and towed from snow by rescue teams of the concerned districts, as well as from Chisinau.
