Moldovan parliament speaker, Romanian president discuss topical issues by phone

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today had a phone conversation with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. Candu informed the Romanian head of state about the Moldovan parliamentary majority's determination in terms of swearing in office of a new pro-European cabinet till later this week, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
Andrian Candu punctually referred to the mission of the new governmental team: implementation of the Association Agreement, fulfilment of Moldova's commitments before the foreign partners, depoliticising of the state's institutions and justice reform, the country's economic growth.
Speaker Andrian Candu reviewed the latest political, social and economic developments in Moldova.
Also, the parliament speaker thanked Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and Romania's authorities for having always been by the side of Moldova and its citizens, including on this period.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis reconfirmed Romania's support for Moldova and voiced hope in an as soon as possible swearing in office of the Moldovan government, which will assume the reforms, so much needed and expected by the citizens, will keep the priority of enforcing the Association and Agreement with the European Union and will continue joint projects with Romania.
