Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/- The members of the new government took oath before President Nicolae Timofti on 20 January, the presidential press service has reported.
At the swearing-in ceremony, Nicolae Timofti conveyed the following message:
“I would like to start by urging Moldovans to be calm, to avoid violence, which will not help anyone. It is important that we remain in the legal space, regardless of the political positions we have.
Mr. Prime Minister,
Ladies and gentlemen ministers,
I hope that this government, formed after a long period of political instability and conditions of interim government, will be able to manage with competence and ability the difficult situation Moldova is currently facing.
It is about, first of all, of stabilization of the economic and financial situation, meant to make the social payments as normal. In this context, it is necessary to resume dialogue with the development partners, including the international financial institutions.
The trustworthiness of this cabinet on the international stage will depend on the way the authorities act on the immediately next period. The people's support is a compulsory element for the success of the government's policies.
I want a good cooperation between the government and parliament, in order to promote European reforms. You may rely on the support of the head of state in this respect.
I wish you every success. God help you!”
