Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/- A new meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), initiated and led by co-head of the Russian delegation, was held on 21 January, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

Senior military chief of Peacekeeping Forces on behalf of Russia, Colonel Andrei Jadin, acting Chief of Joint Staff, Major Alexei Ermilov, military commander of Centre and North sector of Security Zone, lieutenant colonel Alexandru Ivanov, military observers on behalf of Moldova, lieutenant colonel Alexandru Dragomir and Major Sergiu Scripnic have been approved at the event.

It is important to mention that during the 14 January JCC meeting, colonel Igor Dovbnea and Russian military observer, Major Sergey Kurocikin have been approved as members of Russian delegation to the commission.

Seven reports on situation in the Security Zone were approved at the first two JCC meetings of 2016.

Touching upon the issue on ensuring the free movement in the Security Zone, the Moldovan delegation proposed the commission to boost the efforts meant to identify a pragmatic solution to the problem, taking into account the agreements on level of JCC co-heads and suggestions set by representatives of OSCE Mission and Ukraine within the previous meetings.

The Moldovan delegation’s stance was supported by other delegations to the JCC, representatives of Ukraine and OSCE Mission to Moldova.

The talks on the free movement will go on at next meetings of JCC.
