Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/-An internal control service will be established within the Transport and Roads Infrastructure Ministry (MTID). A working group created at the order of Transport and Roads Infrastructure Minister Iurie Chirinciuc, submitted a package of documents on 22 January, providing for the activity of the service similar to the Control Body of the Romanian Transport Ministry.

“Documents provide for fundamental principles used to create and put the internal control department into use. The unit is to be created after the government approves a decision to this effect,” the ministry’s press release notes.

According to the draft decision, the internal control service shall inspect and control the observance of internal and international regulations on the activity of the ministry’s subordinated entities. The initiatives to create such a structure comply with the EU standards.

The activity of the new department was discussed during a meeting Transport and Roads Infrastructure Minister Iurie Chirinciuc held with the representatives of the Romanian Transports Ministry’s Control Body on 22 January.

The head of the Romanian Control Body, Police Chief Commissioner Ion Trocaru said the internal control service would provide the Transport and Roads Infrastructure Ministry with objective and concrete information on the activity of the enterprises and agencies in its subordination. The service will also inform bodies in charge if criminal offenses are identified.

Chirinciuc said the Transport and Roads Infrastructure Ministry’s internal control service will implement good practices and experience, obtained from good cooperation ties with the Romanian counterpart ministry’s Control Body.

The minister asked departments in charge to carry out and implement performance criteria for the managers of the ministry’s subordinated agencies and enterprises, starting with 1 February 2016.
