Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - The European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) has called the political partners speaking out for the European development model to dialogue, in order to join efforts to get Moldova back to the way of democracy and a truthful European integration. A PPEM MP, Eugen Carpov, made statements to this effect at a news conference today.
To achieve this goal, the formation called on the partners to a civilized dialogue, on an open and transparent platform.
“PPEM believes that the present crisis cannot be overcome with the maintenance of the compromised parties on the political stage. The overcoming of the current political and moral crisis in the society is possible only through consolidation of efforts of principally new political formations. Political parties free of obscure financing and capable of ensuring competition, integrity and responsibility. In such conditions, the civic activism will impose the supremacy of law and will bring Moldova back to the European way,” Eugen Carpov said.
The PPEM representatives made an appeal also to civil society representatives, urging them “not to let themselves be manipulated, be attentive to the contradictory messages launched by different political actors in mass media.”
At a meeting of the PPEM Political Council from 15 January, the party’s members ruled to switch to opposition, as the only way out of the emerged political crisis would be the snap elections.
