Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met the heads of districts at a working meeting. Attending the event were also the cabinet members, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
In the beginning of the meeting, the prime minister said that he had been set, just from the beginning of his mandate, to establish a constant dialogue and a close cooperation with the local public authorities. “The new government is determined to help the local communities. We will ask the district heads for a list of priorities in districts, so that we know the urgent things and see in what way can we help you and in how much time,” the prime minister said.
Pavel Filip emphasized the importance of stability in the society, in order to ensure the country’s economic development. “Nothing can be built in conditions of chaos. Neither in the centre, nor in districts. The chaos affects the economy, affects the administration, affects the citizens. The government will not be able to help the district as it would like to do this, if there is no stability in the country,” Pavel Filip said.
The prime minister told the district heads that the last chance of getting Moldova back to the way of development and modernization, regaining the citizens’ trust in the state institutions, as well as the confidence of the foreign partners depend on the work to be done on the next period.
The participants in the meeting welcomed the initiative to organise joint meetings with the participation of the cabinet members and district heads, in order to discuss topical problems from territories. They proposed that these meetings be held permanently and spoke out for a better cooperation with the ministries, including to develop policies and decisions directly regarding the work of the local communities. The ministers attending the meeting answered questions by districts’ leaders, depending on the sectors they are in charge of.
