Moldovan foreign minister attends meeting commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today attended a meeting- commemoration, held at the Memorial Venue of the fascism victims. The event was organized on the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day by the Jewish Community and the Inter-ethnic Relations Bureau (BRI), the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
In a speech given at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Galbur highlighted the importance of the adoption by the parliament of the decision on declaring 27 January as day of commemorating the Holocaust victims on 26 November 2015. In this way, Moldova joined the states which officially commemorate the Holocaust tragedy annually.
Paying homage to all victims of the Nazi regime, Andrei Galbur reiterated Moldova’s firm commitment to contribute to fighting any form of intolerance, xenophobia and anti-Semitism.
