Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/-Prime Minister Pavel Filip during the cabinet meeting today spoke about the malevolent pressure some control institutions put on economic agents, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Filip said he had been informed of excessive checks, intimidations and bribery taking place at economic agents’ institutions. “I particularly refer to the Main State Fiscal Inspectorate, Customs Service and Economic Police,” Filip said.
In this context, the prime minister suggested that a moratorium on the inspections carried out by state bodies subordinated to the government, as well as on searches during misdemeanor procedures, be introduced for a period of three months.
During this period of time, the government will work out clear rules providing for the activity of these institutions. The Justice Ministry shall come up with a normative framework to this effect in one week.
“We have promised right from the beginning that this government will rapidly start repairing injustices committed against citizens. We will not turn a blind eye to irregularities. I want us to put things into order,” Filip said.
Moreover, the prime minister asked law enforcement bodies to speed up the investigation and criminal prosecution in administrative cases filed against corruption in the above-mentioned institutions and dismiss the leadership of the Fiscal and Customs Services during the investigation.
A telephone number will also be launched, so that people could signal abuses made during checks.
