Moldovan, Gagauz parliamentary cooperation platform gets institutionalized

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/-A cooperation platform between the Moldovan parliament and the Popular Assembly of the Administrative Territorial Unit of Gagauzia was institutionalized, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Based on the proposals submitted by the parliamentary factions, Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu signed an order appointing a number of Moldovan MPs as members of the above-mentioned working group.
Therefore, members of the group are MPs Maria Postoico, Chiril Lucinschi, Elena Bacalu, Roman Botan and Vladimir Turcanu. Also, MPs Elena Bodnarenco, Vadim Pistrinciuc, Serghei Sirbu, Ion Casian and Fiodor Gagauz were appointed as substitute members.
MPs Alexandr Tarnavschii, Ivan Burgudji, Ivan Topal, Gheorghii Leiciu and Serghei Cimpoies will represent the Gagauz Popular Assembly in the group.
Moldova’s international partners as well as non-governmental organizations in the field, will provide the working group with expertise, technical support and training.
The working group for ensuring the functionality of the Gagauz autonomy and Moldovan legislative provisions within the constitutional framework and in relation to Gagauz autonomy’s special status was created by the initiative of Speaker Andrian Candu, through the parliament’s decision No. 206 of 20 November 2015. The platform is meant to ensure a cooperation mechanism between the Moldovan parliament and the Gagauz Popular Assembly.
