Moldovan, Chinese officials discuss bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today met Chinese Ambassador to Moldova Zhang Yinghong, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s communication and media relations service has reported.
The sides discussed the present state and perspectives of the Moldovan-Chinese bilateral relations, consolidation of political dialogue, increasing trade exchanges and attracting investments. Galbur thanked the Chinese government for the financial assistance provided under the agreement on economic and technical cooperation between Moldova and China.
Andrei Galbur spoke out for deepening cooperation with the Beijing government, in the context of implementing the initiative of economic circuit, Silk Road. He reiterated Moldova’s interest to participate in investment and infrastructure projects, carried out under this initiative. For his part, the ambassador reaffirmed China’s interest to advance the bilateral ties with Moldova in mutually advantageous sectors.
The sides welcomed the cooperation on the rise between Moldova and China in the information technology sector. In this context, the officials discussed a draft grant on behalf of the Chinese government for financing a project on creating a national network for data transfer by optical fiber in Moldova.
