Moldovan ambassador to Ukraine meets new Ukrainian representative for Transnistrian conflict settlement

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - Moldovan Ambassador to Ukraine Ruslan Bolboceanu has had a meeting with the new Ukrainian special representative for the Transnistrian conflict settlement, Valeriy Zhovtenko, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication department has reported.
At the meeting, Ambassador Ruslan Bolboceanu stressed the importance of the appointment of a new representative of Ukraine in the process of negotiations for the Transnistrian conflict settlement. He voiced confidence that the Ukrainian official would bring his contribution to reviving this process.
The two diplomats exchanged opinions on the present state and prospects for the Transnistrian conflict settlement, highlighting, in particular, the significance of resuming the five-plus-two talks as soon as possible.
For his part, the Ukrainian diplomat expressed willingness to pay a working visit to Moldova soon.
It is worth mentioning that Valeriy Zhovtenko was appointed special representative of Ukraine for the Transnistrian conflict settlement on 1 February 2016. Earlier, he had acted as Ukrainian extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Lithuania.
