Moldovan PM demands speeding up creating 112 service

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today cabinet meeting, expressed condolences to the families who suffered in the wake of the two tragedies occurred in late last week, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
“These situations, as well the others show us that we must work both to prevent and improve the ways of institutional communication for interventions in emergency situations. I am sure that, if the national emergency call service 112 was functional, at least one of these two tragedies could have been avoided,” the prime minister said.
Pavel Filip said that, so far, important steps had been taken to establish the single system of 112 call, that would solve these problems to a great extent, and would be a real support for the citizens. At the same time, the prime minister demanded speeding up actions to this end and launching the concerned service as soon as possible. In this context, the information technology and communications minister, health minister and interior minister were given instructions to work out, in a short time, and submit to cabinet the decisions which should approved to create the 112 service.
Pavel Filip also referred to the need to reduce and prevent criminality in Moldova. “The society, people need to see that police exist, that they trust the latter and that the policemen really protect them,” Filip said, making references to a case of a grenade thrown to the balcony of the governor of the National Bank of Moldova. “Certainly, there are many hypotheses, the important thing is that all of them be checked and not only those who threw the grenade must be discovered, but also who masterminded this attack,” the prime minister said.
Pavel Filip demanded considering the aforementioned cases with maximum of responsibility and professionalism.
