Moldovan government proposes amendments, supplements to Labour Code

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/-The cabinet today approved a draft law providing for the alignment of the national labour legislation with the international practice, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The draft law sees that once collective agreements are supplemented or amended, employers shall inform employees to this effect within five working days upon the date of operation.
The draft law also supplements the Labour Code with provisions that compel employers to inform employees hired for a specific period of time of their possibility to be hired permanently. Also, information on available vacancies shall be made public and accessible for all the employees.
The decision is meant to align the national legislation with EU directives, including the national action plan on the implementation of Moldova-EU Association Agreement for 2014-2016.
The new amendments shall enter into force after being approved by the Moldovan parliament.
