Chisinau, 3 February A/MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, at a today cabinet meeting, said that the attack with a grenade on the house of Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) Dorin Dragutanu might be connected with the activity of BNM on the last period, especially as regards a certain bank.
“The grenade case must be treated with maximum of attention and professionalism. For ordinary onlookers, this case has all elements of a mafia-type attack and we should prove that such actions must be punished quite severely. I hope that the inquirers will check very attentively also whether there are connections between this attack and certain activities of the National Bank on the last period, especially as regards a certain bank. There are more hypotheses, the important thing is that all of them should be verified. We must find not only those who threw the grenade, but also the ones who masterminded this attack,” the prime minister said.
The house of BNM Governor Dorin Dragutanu was target of a grenade attack. The incident took place on 1 February at 2:40, when the governor and his family members were at home. No persons suffered in the wake of the blast, with only elements of the construction hit.
