Moldovan foreign minister, Turkish ambassador tackle bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today received Ambassador of Turkey to Moldova Mehmet Selim Kartal, at his request, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service.
Ambassador Mehmet Selim Kartal handed over to Minister Andrei Galbur a congratulatory message on behalf of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavasoglu. In his message, the head of the Turkish diplomacy voiced confidence that the Moldovan-Turkish relations would continue developing on the basis of mutual trust and perception of the common benefit. The message also says that Turkey will continue making efforts to contribute to the stability and prosperity of Moldova.
The sides also discussed aspects of the Moldovan-Turkish cooperation in diverse fields and expressed mutual interest in further development and fostering of the political dialogue between the two countries. Minister Andrei Galbur stressed the importance of Turkey’s activity within projects implemented in Moldova, including the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia.
The officials agreed on taking the necessary steps to speed up procedures needed for the entering into force of the Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and Turkey, signed in 2014. The sides spoke out for organising bilateral Moldovan-Turkish political consultations and consultations in the consular sector in the nearest future.
