Moldovan parliament speaker to visit Sweden

Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/-Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu will pay a visit to Sweden on 8-10 February, following an invitation by his Swedish counterpart, Urban Ahlin, the parliament’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Candu will have meetings with His Majesty, King Carl Gustaf XVI of Sweden, Parliament Speaker Urban Ahlin, as well deputy speakers Björn Söder and Esabelle Dingizian.
The speaker’s visit aims at deepening the development cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, as Sweden is among the main donors of Moldova, including on the parliamentary dimension.
The official will also hold talks with officials from the Swedish Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Commerce and Innovation, Culture and Democracy Ministry, Chamber of Commerce, Stockholm Municipal Council.
Also, Candu will visit the Economic School from Stockholm and Institute for Security and Development Policy, to discuss with researchers and experts the good practice of Sweden in terms of sustainable economic development.
The Moldovan parliament, along with the Central Electoral Commission, benefit from assistance within the programme on improving the quality of Moldovan democracy through parliamentary and electoral support, funded by the Swedish government with over 3 million euros for 2012-2016.
