Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/-Ten Moldovan lyceums got their physics laboratories endowed with modern equipment today. The event is held within the “Smart Clasroom” project, implemented by the Education Ministry and National Association of ICT companies, with the support of Korea International Cooperation Agency.

The modern equipment aims to boost up the efficiency of training in physics and be used during teaching, experimental demonstrations, as well as in practice in classes like integrated science, physics, chemistry, biology, geography and ecology.

“The donation South Korea has made is essential for Moldova, as our pupils will now have the opportunity to apply physics theoretical knowledge into practice and understand its correlation with the real phenomena. They will also be able to research problems and test solutions. I hope the new equipment will help them achieve new performances,” Education Minister Corina Fusu said.

The lyceums were endowed with hardware equipment and software support needed to create PASCO SPARK digital physics laboratories. The cost of a modern set of equipment reaches approximately 2,250 dollars.

“This equipment brings Moldova among the over 100 countries using cutting-edge products and technologies made by PASCO Company, which is a global leader in the development of innovative solution in the education field. Hopefully pupils will develop their abilities in the field of exact sciences, because the future belongs to new information technologies. We are sure there is a great potential and we should strive for the better,” the executive director of the National Association of ICT companies, Ana Chirita said.

The ten lyceums selected through competition are as follow: “Principesa N. Dadiani”, “Ion Creanga” and “Pro Succes” from Chisinau; “Constantin Stere” from Soroca district; “Mihai Eminescu” from Balti municipality; “Stefanesti” from Floresti district; “Mihai Sadoveanu” from Calarasi district; “Stefan Holban” from Hancesti town; “D. Cantemir” from Cantemir town and “Dorotcaia” from Dubasari.

Physics, informatics and biology teachers of the endowed lyceums are attending a string of workshops during January-March 2016, in order to ensure an efficient implementation of innovative methods in education and familiarization with the opportunities the donated equipment offers pupils.
