Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/- A special commission for monitoring and reporting implementation of the Association Agreement between Moldova and EU is to be set up in parliament. A legislative initiative to this end was registered in parliament and signed by a group of Liberal Democrats: Ion Balan, Stefan Creanga, Valeriu Ghiletchi, Aliona Gota, Vladimir Hotineanu, Nae-Simion Plesca, Gheorghe Mocanu and Mihaela Spatari, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The authors propose that the commission should be a mechanism for continuously assessing the legislation and carrying out the roadmap in order to implement the Association Agreement.
“The commission will consider in details all the sectors seen in the Association Agreement. In this process, it will cooperate with representatives of the government, institutions and public associations, and will elaborate concrete proposals meant to optimize the legislative process of implementing the Association Agreement”, the authors said.
The special commission will be made up of 12 MPs, representatives of different permanent commissions and parliamentary groups. The lawmakers will present a report to the parliament quarterly as regards enforcement of measures and commitments seen in the Association Agreement. The report will include relevant information about the level of implementation of the Association Agreement, draft laws and meeting the tasks, as well as a string of recommendations, including on behalf of the special commission, EU Delegation to Moldova and civil society.
The government has earlier adopted the national plan on harmonization of legislation for transposing EU documents into national legislation. At the same time, the priority implementation of the Association Agenda represents one of the conditions submitted by the Romanian government for transferring the first installment from the 150-million euro refundable credit.
