European Parliament official on visit to Moldova

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/- Rapporteur of the European Parliament for Moldova, Lithuanian MEP Petras Auštrevičius pays a visit to Chisinau on 8-11 February, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The visit’s agenda includes meetings with President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Parliament Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici and Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur.
Petras Auštrevičius will also meet the leader of the Democratic Party, Marian Lupu, the leader of the Liberal Party, Mihai Ghimpu, a member of the commission on foreign policy and European integration Violeta Ivanov, as well as the deputy head of the Liberal Democratic Party Valeriu Strelet.
MEP Petras Auštrevičius is a coordinator of the annual cooperation programme between the European parliament and the Moldovan legislative body for 2016. The cooperation programme sees providing assistance to parliament in approximating and adjusting the national legislation to the EU acquis, as well as strengthening parliamentary commissions’ capacities.
