Moldovan foreign minister meets, Armenian, Slovakian, Latvian counterparts

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur has had meetings with his counterparts from Armenia, Slovakia and Latvia, on the sidelines of the 52nd Security Conference from Munich, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication department has reported.
At a meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, the sides confirmed mutual interest in further developing the friendship and cooperation relations between the two states, including by fostering direct contacts and the political dialogue, in line with the calendar of high-level visits agreed upon in 2015.
During the meeting with Slovakian Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak, the officials exchanged opinions on the evolution of the bilateral ties and present situation in Moldova. The sides highlighted the importance of implementing the reforms resulting from the Association Agreement with EU and overcoming the difficulties Moldova was facing in direct dialogue with the civil society.
At a meeting with Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics, the latter reiterated Latvia’s willingness to back Moldovan cabinet’s efforts to implement the reforms provided for in the Association Agreement. The two officials agreed on continuing carrying out the bilateral agenda by exchanging visits and establishing a proper period to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation.
