Two German companies to invest about 60 million euros in free economic zone from north Moldova

Chisinau, 29 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Draexmailer company and the Sumitomo concern of Germany will make investments worth about 60 million euros in the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) of Balti, Moldova’s second largest city .  

The Balti FEZ manager, Marin Ciobanu, told a today’s news conference that the financial means would be invested to construct two factories for producing vehicle electric wiring. Thirty one million euros will be invested in the construction of one of these enterprises, where 2,500 employees are scheduled to work.

As for the second factory, Ciobanu said the investments amounted to 27 million euros, of which 17 million euros was planned for construction and ten million euros – for endowment with equipment. As many as 3,200 jobs are scheduled to be created here.   

Marin Ciobanu also said that, in 2011, the Draexmailer company had also made an investment of 30 million euros in FEZ Balti by building a modern factory. Presently, about 3,000 employees work at this German company of the Free Economic Zone, with an average monthly monthly salary of 6,800 lei.
