Moldovan deputy premier, Lithuanian ambassador discuss cooperation, support

Chisinau, 29 February /MOLDPRES/-Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan today met Lithuanian Ambassador to Moldova Rimantas Lataka, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
During the talks, the officials praised the development of Moldovan-Lithuanian ties, highlighting cooperation prospects in areas of mutual interest.
Balan thanked the Lithuanian government for the assistance and counseling it offers Moldova with the implementation of reforms and EU integration efforts. He touched upon the government’s priority actions to achieve Moldova’s reintegration.
The sides also tackled the evolution and development prospects in the negotiations process, national and international measures the Moldovan government will take to resume in a proximal time and without any conditions the five-plus-two negotiations as well as all other existent dialogue platforms.
The officials broached the activity of sector working groups, promotion of confidence-building measures on both sides of Dniester, observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the breakaway Transnistrian region, situation in the Security Zone and other issues.
The Moldovan deputy prime minister said state authorities were counting on the active participation of international partners in the sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.
At the end of the meeting, Lataka assured Moldova of Lithuania’s full openness to diversify mutual cooperation and of its full support for promotion of reforms and EU integration efforts.
