Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Economics Ministry has informed that, following negotiations with electric energy producers, the ministry had managed to agree on a cut in the electricity import price from 67.95 dollars for one MW/hour to 48.995 dollars.
The contracts signed by Energocom state enterprise and the providers at regulated prices are valid for the period 1 April 2016 – 31 March 2017. After the talks, Energocom got for also a 12-per cent cut in electric energy for its partners for March, this year.
The Energokapital company was designated winner of the tender on purchasing electric energy, in which three companies participated: one from Moldova and two of Ukraine. Energokapital offered the best price, as well as guarantees of full carrying out of the contract obligations. The bids of the companies from Ukraine were not accepted, both because of a higher price for the proposed electric energy, and for the lack of guarantees of stable supply of electricity in full volumes in overall the duration of the contract.
Once the acquisition prices cut, the Economics Ministry considers that “the needed pre-requisites have been created for reducing the electric energy tariffs for end consumers.”
The Gas Natural Fenosa Group in Moldova said that new contracts had been signed on acquisition of electric energy from the Kuchurgan power station and Energocom at lower prices by 28 per cent. “The gained cut in the acquisition price will allow absorption, to a certain extent, of the tariff deviations accumulated because of the tariff insufficiency, which represent a beneficial fact for all our clients,” a press release by the Gas Natural Fenosa company says.
After a today’s meeting with decision-makers of the energy sector and Economics Ministry, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said there were pre-requisites for cutting electricity tariffs for end consumers by ten per cent.
