Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved a National Strategy of attracting investments and promoting exports for 2016-2020, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

The Strategy’s main goal is to quickly turn to account Moldova’s export potential, preponderantly by attracting foreign investments. On the other hand, the document will support the fulfillment of the commitments taken by Moldova within the Association Agreement with the European Union.

By enforcing the Strategy, the government aims, inter alia, at getting a net flow of investments worth about 380 million dollars and creating at least 10,000 jobs by 2020. An important aspect of the strategy is the fact that it regards the most promising sectors from the viewpoint of attracting investments for the next five years. The strategy’s implementation will ensure the attraction of major investment projects, which will help enhance the capacity of production and export, create new jobs, boost the work of Moldovan small- and medium-sized enterprises and, not in the least, promote knowledge in new fields for the national economy.

It is worth mentioning that the achievement of the objectives provided for in the Strategy will allow not only attaining tangible economic effects, but will also ensure the enhancement of Moldova’s attractiveness on the international stage, improvement of the investment environment and increase in exports.

The Strategy will be implemented by the involvement of central public institutions, competent organisations and agencies, as well as with the involvement of the business environment and civil society. If necessary, both the text of the Strategy and the action plan will be annually revised and adjusted, with the inclusion of specific proposals for their completion and updating
