Moldovan, Italian officials hold consular consultations in Chisinau

Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/-Heads of consular services of Moldovan and Italian Foreign Ministries held consultations in Chisinau today. Attending the consultations were representatives of more state institutions, including the Labor, Social Protection and Family Ministry, Bureau for Migration and Asylum, as well as the Informational Technology and Communications Ministry, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication department has reported.
The ministry’s secretary general thanked the head of the Italian delegation, Ambassador Cristina Ravaglia for Italy’s support for Moldova’s EU integration course and implementation of EU visa free regime. The officials also praised the Italian authorities’ support for the Moldovan community.
During the consultations, the sides examined the legal aspect of the Moldovan-Italian cooperation in the consular sector and ways to consolidate it. They have also tackled consular problems and difficulties both Italian and Moldovan citizens are facing while residing in the other counterpart state.
The officials also focused on sharing Italy’s experience in granting asylum and helping refugees integrate.
After consultations, officials agreed on the need to continue bilateral cooperation in order to find the best solutions to enhance consular activity.
