Moldovan parliamentary delegations attends Euronest Parliamentary Assembly meeting

Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/- A Moldovan parliamentary delegation participates in the fifth ordinary meeting of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, held in Brussels on 21-23 March. The delegation is made up of the MPs: the head of the parliamentary delegation to Euronest PA, Marian Lupu, Oxana Domenti, Dumitru Diacov and Artur Resetnicov, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

At the meeting, MPs from the Eastern Partnership countries and European Parliament will tackle a string of resolutions on common stances and concerns of the EU member states and partner countries from Eastern Europe in terms of foreign policy, as well as the threats to their security, EU's multi-annual financial perspectives and their impact on the economic cooperation between the Eastern Partnership states. Also, the lawmakers will discuss draft resolutions concerning the development of the policy on unconventional gas and potential effects of the energy market in EU and partner states from Eastern Europe, cooperation between EU and partner countries from Eastern Europe for the mutual recognition of professional qualifications, work experience and university diplomas within the Bologna Process.

The MPs will also debate the reaction of EU member states and partner countries from Eastern Europe to threats, hybrid attacks and misinformation, as well as actions of fighting and discouraging them. They lawmakers will exchange opinions on a report titled, Eastern Partnership after Revision of Neighborhood Policy and Euronest PA Role, given by European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.

Under the agenda, at the opening of the session, European Parliament President Martin Schulz, co-heads of Euronest PA Heidi Hautala and Victor Dolidze, as well as other European officials and representatives of Euronest PA observers will convey greeting messages.

At the same time, a women’s forum will take place within the PA meeting on 22 March. The Moldovan parliament will be represented by Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici.

The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, set up in 2011, represents a parliamentary dimension of the Eastern Partnership and a dialogue platform between MEPs and the eastern partners on topics related to implementation of political, social and economic reforms.
