Moldovan deputy premier meets head of EU Border Assistance Mission

Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan today had a meeting with Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission for Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) Tesoriere Andrew, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The dialogue was focused on issues of the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border management, ensuring control on the concerned perimeter, regulating and facilitating the movement of people, goods and services through the central (Transnistrian) segment of the Moldova-Ukraine frontier.
The officials stressed the need to promote extended campaigns of informing residents and enterprises from the Transnistrian region about benefits of the establishing of the first joint checkpoint at the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border, according to the provisions of the Agreement on exchange of information on the persons and vehicles crossing the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border and the Protocol on the organisation of the joint control at the Pervomaisk-Kuchurgan international border checkpoint, signed on 4 November 2015, with the participation of the border agencies from Moldova and Ukraine.
