Moldovan foreign ministry gives new details on Brussels explosions

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) informs that the Belgian authorities have confirmed the taking place of two blasts recorded at the Brussels-based Zaventem airport and the local underground today morning, the MAEIE information and media communication service has reported.
At present, the actions of the Belgian authorities are aimed mainly at providing the needed assistance to the victims and ensuring security in the zone. The Brussels airport and the underground are closed, and the terror alert level of the fourth degree was announced all over Belgium. Presently, neither the exact number of victims nor their citizenship is known. The Foreign and European Integration Ministry, through the Moldovan Embassy in Belgium, further keeps contact with the Belgian authorities, in order to clear up whether there are also Moldovan citizens among the casualties or not and will provide consular specialty assistance, if necessary.
