Netherlands to further back Moldova's reforms agenda

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met Ambassador of the Netherlands to Moldova Stella Ronner-Grubačić. The officials approached a wide range of issues related to the political dialogue and Moldovan-Dutch cooperation in different sectors, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The prime minister thanked for the interest with which the Netherlands monitored the evolution of the situation in Moldova, as well as for personal contribution of Ambassador Stella Ronner-Grubačić to developing the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries. “We appreciate very much our relations with the Netherlands and further rely on the support by Dutch government in implementing the reforms agenda, including the EU-Moldova Association Agreement," Filip said.
The prime minister pointed out that the technical and financial assistance provided by the government of the Netherlands was directed to priority fields for Moldova. In the context, Pavel Filip referred to the assistance for reforming the judiciary system, as well as to a Twinning project, meant to consolidate the financial and banking system of the country.
For her part, Stella Ronner-Grubačić confirmed her country’s willingness to further back Moldova in implementing the reforms agenda. She underlined the importance of ensuring the independence of the state institutions, law supremacy, as well as stability and security in Moldova and the entire region.
The sides expressed mutual interest in developing the economic and investment cooperation between the two states, as well as in boosting the bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.
Over 160 enterprises with Dutch capital are operating in Moldova. Netherlands is among Moldova's top foreign investors. So far, 24 bilateral documents have been signed between the two states, of which 11 agreements in different sectors.
