Moldovan PM backs fostering of Moldova-UK relations in justice, home affairs

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today received Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Moldova Philip Batson. The two officials discussed the implementation of more projects under way in Moldova with the support of British partners, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The prime minister thanked the ambassador for his involvement in strengthening and maintaining the Moldova-UK relations, highlighting the importance of foreign partners’ support for the European integration of Moldova.
Pavel Filip praised the position of the United Kingdom on Moldova, showed including through the All Party Parliamentary Group. “We speak out for boosting the bilateral cooperation in the justice and home affairs sectors between competent institutions from Moldova and the Great Britain,” Filip also said.
For his Part, Philip Batson reiterated his country’s support in terms of technical assistance for reforming public administration, justice and public money. The British official noted that a programme to this end, backed by the Good Governance Fund, was to be officially launched in next April.
The two officials also discussed possibility to extend the area of bilateral cooperation, by launching new projects in diverse sectors, including programmes on counseling by British experts.
