Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip at a today’s cabinet meeting demanded carrying out an assessment on a new approach in terms of state controls and presentation of preliminary conclusions on the effects of a moratorium set on financial controls, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The prime minister noted that it was not enough to take good decisions; it is necessary to watch the way these measures are being implemented, how the system works, and where adjustments are needed.
“The draft law has been already adopted and is to be published in the Official Journal. We established three months for the moratorium on state controls, in order to understand what is happening on this dimension and what measures must be undertaken to remove abuses on behave of state officials,” the prime minister said.
In this context, Pavel Filip asked Justice Minister Vladimir Cebotari to prepare, in a week period, an assessment on the real situation, what should be done to remove any risk of abuse, so that the legal framework in the sector is subsequently improved.
“The controls on behalf of state institutions must be transparent, but at the same time, predictable,” the prime minister added.
