Moldovan soldiers participate in U.S military engineering training course

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/-A group of soldiers of the National Army participate in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training course, which is part of an assistance project in the military engineering field, organized with the support of the U.S. Army European Command.
According to the commander of “Codru” Sapper Battalion, Lieutenant-Colonel Adrian Efros, 15 officers and non-commissioned officers of the peacekeeping Battalion No 22, “Stefan cel Mare” brigade and the Military Engineering Battalion are being trained to research, disable and destroy explosive objects of various type and size.
Meetings are coordinated by a team of experts of the National Army’s military engineering departments, previously trained by American experts. “The group of Moldovan experts holds theoretical and practical meetings, under the supervision of the U.S. Army European Command’s experts. They will take tests at the end, in order to be certified as EOD instructors,” Efros said.
The assistance project in the military engineering field started in 2012 and provides for training courses and technical assistance.
