Moldovan, Russian officials approach bilateral ties, cooperation

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today met Russian State Secretary, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigoriy Karasin, on a working visit to Moldova, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s communication and media relations service has reported.
The officials exchanged opinions about the current issues on the agenda of the Moldovan-Russian bilateral relations. Special attention was paid to the issues of promoting the political dialogue, overcoming the present difficulties in economic cooperation development, strengthening cultural, humanitarian ties, etc.
The sides spoke out for boosting the bilateral political dialogue, invoking the relaunch of inter-ministerial consultations between the deputy foreign ministers, a visit to Moscow by Moldovan foreign minister, due in early next week, as well as other high-level visits planned for the near future. Galbur and Karasin declared for continuing the dialogue at the level of co-heads of the intergovernmental joint commission for economic cooperation and for strengthening cooperation in cultural and humanitarian sectors.
The two officials welcomed the efforts taken for resuming the five-plus-two negotiations, in order to identify a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the Transnistrian problem.
