Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved a draft law on Moldova’s accession to the Customs Convention on Containers, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Moldova joining the aforementioned convention will facilitate the transport of goods and will ensure the fulfillment of a commitment taken by the country in the context of the national action plan for implementing the Moldova – European Union Association Agreement. This will help develop international transports across Moldova and will have a beneficial economic effect, as well as a positive impact on the environment, as this will allow carrying certain goods across Moldova, without unloading, according to the set requirements.
The document establishes the conditions for admitting the containers temporarily imported into Moldova and their use for the goods transportation in the domestic traffic.
The Customs Convention on Containers was adopted in Geneva on 2 December 1972.
