Moldovan retirees to receieve higher pensions starting from 1 April

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/- Over half a million of retirees will receive higher pensions by 10.1 per cent starting from 1 April. According to the Labour, Social Protection and Family Ministry, this percentage was calculated proceeding from a 10.5-per cent increase in the average gross salary 2015 and a 9.7-per cent- inflation. The indexation of pensions paid from the social insurances budget is carried out each year starting from April.
Data by the Labour, Social Protection and Family Ministry shows that about 520,000 people will receive age limit pensions up by 120 lei. The pension for about 134,000 persons with disabilities will also be indexed; the first-degree disability allowance will be estimated at 675 lei and the third-degree disability allowance – 459 lei.
Survivours pensions will grow by 61 lei, and 1,900 Moldovans who participated in the Chernobyl relief works will receive higher pensions by 260 lei.
Electricity consumers will pay by about 10 per cent less against the earlier payments starting from 1 April. On 12 March, the administrative board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency ruled to cut by 11 per cent the tariff for electricity delivered to residents by Gas Natural Fenosa company and respectively - by 8 per cent for consumers served by the electricity distribution companies RED Nord and RED Nord-Vest.
Household consumers provided with electric energy by Gas Natural Fenosa Company will pay 1.92 lei per 1 KW/h against the earlier rate of 2.16 lei. The residents served by RED Nord company will pay 2.04 lei per 1 KW/h against 2.23 lei, and household consumers of RED Nord Vest will pay 2.14 lei per 1 KW/h, down by 0.19 lei.
Starting from 1 April, 700 names of pharmaceutical preparations will cheapen by 14 per cent. The cost of another 500 types of medicines will drop by 12 per cent. The price for the other 1,400 preparations will decrease by 9 per cent.
