Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/-Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Lilian Darii summoned Russian Ambassador to Moldova Farit Muhametshin at the Foreign and European Integration Ministry today, over the emergence of some information, according to which Moldovan citizens in the Security Zone are being recruited by the Russian Armed Forces, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

Darii voiced his bewilderment with such actions, as they are provocative and also run counter to Moldova’s legislation and international law norms. He asked the Russian ambassador to intervene in the situation and take measures to stop such actions.

In this context, the Moldovan official reiterated Chisinau’s official position on the need to withdraw Russian troops from Moldova’s territory and transform the current peacekeeping mission into a civil mission with an international mandate.
