Germany to offer more scholarships for Moldovan soldiers

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/-Germany’s Federal Defense Ministry is willing to increase the number of study scholarships for Moldovan soldiers in German military education institutions. A statement to this effect was made by German experts in Chisinau today, during bilateral consultations with their Moldovan counterparts at the Defense Ministry.
According to interim head of the human resource management department, Lieutenant-Colonel Andrei Pascal, the meeting was held at the initiative of the German officials, who suggested the number of specialized training courses the German Federal Defense Ministry offers Moldova be enlarged in the medical, infantry, engineering and peacekeeping fields. Moldovan soldiers will also be able to apply for scholarships at the Command and Staff College and other higher education institutions.
The German side voiced its availability to provide the National Army’s non-commissioned officers with training courses and other short-term activities, with the participation of their German colleagues.
Germany’s Federal Defense Ministry offered the Moldovan Defense Ministry seven scholarships during the academic year of 2015-2016. An amount of 113 soldiers of the National Army have been trained in German military education institutions so far.
