Germany company Kaufland willing to invest 60 million euros in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/ - The German company Kaufland plans to open six shops in the Chisinau city till 2020, with the overall investments amounting to 60 million euros. CEO of Kaufland Company Romania Marco Hößl made statements to this effect at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Octavian Calmic today.
According to the Economics Ministry’s press service, the company has already opened an office in Chisinau, is identifying grounds to build the shops and discusses with local producers the supply of goods to Kaufland of Moldova and Romania.
Kaufland is one of the biggest German retail companies of Europe. It is a component of the German concern Schwarz-Gruppe, which includes also other well-known networks, such as Lidl and Kaufmarkt, with more than 200,000 employees in Europe. The company has over 1,000 shops in Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania. In 2014, Schwarz-Gruppe became the biggest retail group from Europe, with business worth almost 80 billion euros.
