Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/ - The biggest company producing salami and meat delicacies from Moldova, ROGOB, has informed that it purchased the controlling stake of the Unic Central Department Store within a tender at the Stock Exchange. The new owner proposed a price of 252 million lei for 85.45 per cent of the stocks owned by the state at this enterprise.

In a press release, ROGOB marketing manager Valentin Dubrovschi said that “the transaction was made with the support of two commercial banks from Moldova, one of which had earlier backed the ROGOB company within projects on construction of the most modern unit for producing salami and sausages of Moldova and development of its own specialized shops.”

The acquisition of the controlling stake of the stock company “Magazinul Universal Central UNIC” (UNIC Central Department Store) is part of a long-term strategy of the company’s investments in Moldova’s economy and of the plan on development and diversification of business and represents a new stage of its development,” ROGOB director-general Igor Rosca said.

“We have made this investment while openly declaring our intentions. The shop will not change its activity specialization; yet, the modernisation and development we plan will allow us turning it into an interesting commercial project – meant to fit the most modern trends in the sector and able to meet the needs and expectations of the residents and guests of Chisinau. We plan to manage the unit in a way able to transform into a successful private business, an important employer and payer of taxes to the state budget,” Igor Rosca added.

The formalities in terms of acquisition are to be completed on the days to come.
